This website and related phone app have been developed by Conectus for Auckland District Health Board (DHB), Waitemata DHB, and Counties Manukau Health (the Auckland Metro DHBs). These resources are part of a broader Pregnancy and Parenting programme, which aims to:
- Provide parents with easily accessible pregnancy and early parenting information to help prepare for pregnancy, childbirth and parenthood
- Promote pregnancy and parenting information in the community
- Support and encourage parents to engage early with other health care providers such as Lead Maternity Carers (LMCs), Well Child and General Practice
- Provide health, social and education providers with pregnancy and parenting information to assist them to support parents to prepare themselves for pregnancy, childhood and parenthood and make informed choices
- Have a consistent and evidence-based approach to the delivery of the Education Curriculum covering key health messages and topics.
About us
Conectus is an alliance of maternal and child health focussed services at the University of Auckland. Together, we aim to improve health outcomes for mothers, infants and their families.
Whakawhetū National SUDI Prevention for Māori was a national kaupapa Māori programme dedicated to reducing the rate of SUDI (Sudden Unexpected Death in Infancy) for Māori. They provide policy advice, disseminate evidence-based information, resources, training and education to the health sector and Māori communities, facilitate an annual Safe Sleep Day in December of every year, work with communities to develop local solutions, and work with DHBs to support their work to reduce SUDI.
TAHA Well Pacific Mother and Infant Service was part of the Pacific Health Unit, based at the School of Population Health. TAHA works collaboratively in the health sector on key areas of health and wellbeing for Pacific mothers and infants including maternal health and access to primary health care and education before, during and after pregnancy, infant care, including safe sleeping practices, maternal smoking cessation and breastfeeding, strategic leadership and advocacy, workforce development and education and evidence translation and sharing.
The Immunisation Advisory Centre is a nationwide organisation based at the School of Population Health at The University of Auckland. They provide New Zealanders with a local source of independent, factual information based on international and New Zealand scientific research regarding vaccine-preventable diseases and the benefits and risks of immunisation. They also provide information and training for health professionals, national immunisation coordination and policy advice and research into many aspects of vaccines and vaccine-preventable diseases.
